Liposuction ( Liposculpture )
Principle
Liposuction in Tunisia takes place through 5 mm incisions placed in discreet places, the surgeon introduces a cannula under the skin, a long needle with a rounded end and several small orifices. This is connected to a suction machine whose power is adjustable. By moving it delicately with "back and forth" movements according to fan-shaped tunnels, a fine and precise subcutaneous degreasing is carried out in the selected areas. The choice of cannula is very wide, based on many models; length from 15 to 30 cm, diameter from 3 to 5 mm, spatulate or round end, orifices from 1 to 5 distributed in a line or in a circular fashion. Each area will thus be treated perfectly and according to an adapted process.
Can it be done on any part of the body?
To see a surface effect of a reduction in volume in depth, a secondary retraction of the skin is necessary. The expected result will therefore depend on the qualities of skin tone and elasticity in relation to the chosen area. Liposuction is an act that can be performed at any age, but it is obvious that the firmer and more toned the skin, the more it has significant retraction capacities and therefore the more the quantity of fat removed can be important and the better the results will be. In the same way, all areas of the body do not have the same retraction capacities.
The most favorable areas for liposuction are:
Face and double chin.
Silhouette: belly, love handle, hip, saddlebags.
The limbs: the arms, the thighs, the inside of the knees, the calves and the ankles.
Others are dangerous or even prohibited: pleated above the kneecap, rounded buttocks.
What type of anesthesia for liposuction can be used?
The anesthesia will be:
Local for liposculptures of small areas: small belly, inside of the knees, double chin.
Locoregional (epidural) or general in all other cases.
How long does the operation last and how long is the hospital stay?
Liposuction lasts between 30 minutes and 2 hours depending on the number of areas to be treated and the amount of fat aspirated, with a hospital stay of 12 hours (outpatient) to 24 hours depending on the volume removed.
What are the postoperative consequences?
At the end of the intervention, a panty (compressive compression garment of the "thick cyclist" type) will be put in place. It must be kept between 2 and 4 weeks, permanently. The first 8 days, it will never be removed; then you can remove it to wash it and moisturize your skin with a cream. The panty will apply the skin evenly and thus help its gradual retraction. It will minimize the swelling associated with postoperative edema. Showers are authorized the next day, so they will be taken with the panty on for the first week. It is important to mobilize the day after the operation to prevent phlebitis. A preventive anti-coagulant treatment will often be prescribed. A systematic preventive analgesic treatment will be prescribed. Pain that rarely lasts more than 4-5 days will thus be minimal. A resumption of professional activities is possible after this time. The bruises (bruises) are variable and rarely last more than 10 days. The edema disappears at 80% in 3 weeks but completely in 3-4 months, even 6 months for certain areas .No sun for 3-4 weeks, as long as the slightest bruise persists and protection of scars for 6 months. From the moment the panty is removed, sports activity is recommended. The recovery will then be helped possibly by lymphatic drainage massages for one to two months. Throughout this period, a food accompaniment is recommended.
Will the fat come back?
Lipoaspiration is not a treatment for overweight. It only modifies the silhouette by reducing localized overloads (lipomeria). Apart from an event involving hormonal involvement such as pregnancy or menopause, the fat removed will not return. There may even be a paradoxical visual effect of gaining volume rather "elsewhere" than in the operated area if you gain weight afterwards. The result will only be maintained at the cost of nutritional monitoring. Despite everything, weight gain will not prevent the preservation of new body lines. The new silhouette will be preserved.
In conclusion
Liposculpture is the aesthetic intervention par excellence. It allows to redraw a body with almost zero scars. In overweight patients, a little blocked in the middle of their diet, liposuction can have a "starter" effect, leading to a resumption of weight loss. It results from a psychic and metabolic effect. This technique applies to almost all areas of the body, it effectively removes fat that does not disappear during the diet. It is better to practice it as young as possible from the age of 17 to make the most of the elastic qualities of the skin.
